Merry Christmas

We were a little worried that Izzy is still a little to young to appreciate Christmas, and she is, but she did know that she was getting some cool new toys to play with. Her favorites include her rocking horse, her new wagon (excellent gift for Izzy, not so much for me now that she wants rides everywhere) and her little people farm set.

We enjoyed a quiet Christmas this year. Over the next couple of years we will be able to strengthen our own family Christmas traditions with Isabelle and "Bubs Two". I have been interested in Christmas traditions this year and how people celebrate this time of year. For us, Christmas Eve is the night to remember the birth of Saviour, away from the distractions of gifts and the excitement of Christmas Day. Isabelle is still to young to appreciate the Christmas Story but she looked like a real angel as we reenacted the Nativity Story with some of her cousins and friends.

Christmas morning Isabelle awoke to find that Santa had left a stocking at the end of her crib (a favorite tradition I did in my family - in fact I and at least two others of my siblings have insisted that Santa "visit" them even as grown adults). Christmas morning is pictures on the stairs in pajama's (tradition from Tiffany's side).

Following which we were able to talk to and thank grandparents for gifts. My dad wasn't feeling feeling well so we couldn't video chat with them but we did catch up with Nana, Papa and Uncle Tyler.

Later on we enjoyed brunch with extended family. We'd certainly love to read about your family traditions.

Here's Izzy enjoying her Christmas!
