Teething and Talking

Little behind in this one but Isabelle's first two teeth came through right before Christmas. We managed to snap this picture now that they have come through enough. She wasn't keen on me taking this picture!

Can't leave you with a crying picture so here's a happy picture to enjoy.

For my birthday Isabelle's present was her first words "da-da". That was my best present (except for yours, of course, if you gave me one).

Salt Lake Ski Trip

After the New Year I had a trip to Las Vegas for work. We decided to make a quick trip to Salt Lake on the way home. Tiffany and Isabelle headed out to Salt Lake for the week and I met up with them after leaving Vegas. I made a deal with Tiffany that if I went the whole of 2007 without eating French Fries we would take a weekend Ski Trip, so this was my reward. We bundled Isabelle up in her cold weather clothes and headed for Salt Lake City, Utah!

We left Isabelle with Nana (who was out in SLC too) and headed for the slopes.

Tiffany swore she wasn't any good but looked very graceful out on the slopes.

I, on the other hand, was mediocre at best. By the end of the trip I was falling down the Blue runs instead of the Green ones! We even got lost and went half way down a Black Diamond!

Along with the skiing there was always the beautiful view.

Isabelle was quite content when we were gone and spent time with her cousin Ethan.

Since Salt Lake Isabelle has been fighting Bronchiolitis and an ear infection. Her coughing was so bad one night that we took her to the Dr.s the next day. She manages to fool everyone with her smiles and laughter even though she's feeling poorly.

All in all, we had a great trip. For those who are interested, this years objective is to lay of the Ice-Cream for 2008. Hopefully you'll see some more ski pics next year!

Mum and Dad visit from England

The day after Christmas (Boxing day!) Mum and Dad arrived from England to spend a few days with us and to finally meet Isabelle. Isabelle and Michael met Mum & Dad at the airport.

We enjoyed some traditional English Christmas Crackers. Isabelle was a fan of the hat and would promptly rip them off her head.

Mum and Dad (Gran and Grandad) got to spend some quality time with Izzy and by the end of the week Isabelle (and us!) were sad to see them leave.

Returning from our Christmas Break

We hope your Christmas Season was pleasant. We enjoyed out first Christmas with Isabelle. Santa delivered everyone's stockings on in the night and managed to sneak them at the foot of the bed and the crib without waking anyone. Isabelle wasn't quite sure why Daddy was the one getting excited, but still... The best part about this first Christmas is that Isabelle was quite content with a few stuffed animals and toys (not sure why all the toys Izzy got had to be musical, everyone in the house now knows that Pigs oink, Cows moo and Chicks cheep). Other than the various boxes and pieces of wrapping paper Isabelle received a new Car Seat we are amazed at how fast the past six months have gone by.

Isabelle was cast as Baby Jesus in the family nativity on Christmas Eve. Her performance was outstanding (she remembered all her lines). Tiffany and I are both grateful to parents who used Christmas Eve as a time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.

Look out for our next update when Michael parents visit from England...
