Isabelle - Short Video Clip
Apologies for the sideways video. This is for all you who say you haven't seen Isabelle with her eyes open!
Apologies for the sideways video. This is for all you who say you haven't seen Isabelle with her eyes open!
This week has been fun. We're getting used to not having any sleep! Isabelle seems like she has changed so much already. She enjoys playing with her hands these days and is getting quite "grabby". She found her thumb and is proud to be a thumb sucker (see pic). Her cord fell off this week so we gave her first bath...she hated it (probably got that from her dad!). Here are the pics:

(We know that Nana has clothes from years ago but this outfit looks distinctly Amish!)
Isabelle had her first Doctors appointment today. The Doc said that she was doing well. We had been concerned about her eyes gooping (sp?) up but he assured us that it was quite common. The whites of Isabelle's eyes have been a little yellow. Again, this is common and not to worry! I was disheartened to find that when Isabelle grabs my finger it is simply a reflect action (least she has good reflexes!). Maybe one day she will actually want to hold my hand!
I really try to not make this blog completely self indulgent but I have to post some of the pictures we took today of Isabelle!

We celebrate Isabelle 1 Week Birthday today!
Isabelle loves to cross her legs during feeding. I decided to take some "fun" shots yesterday.
I like the top picture the most. If I were to title my photos I would probably come up with some snappy caption about how it looks like she is praying with her feet...answers on a postcard!

Don't really know the best way to title these posts as, lets face it, they're all going to be of Isabelle! Maybe the day thing will work until I lose count then try something else.
Isabelle is developing right before our eyes. She now opens her eyes for long durations. We are working on establishing a routine (which consists of sleeping, [diaper/nappy] change and crying. Isabelle certainly got the sleeping genes from Tiffany as she can sleep for hours at a time. Currently she wakes up every 2-3 hours for food and clean under-roos.
Below are some of the best shots of the last couple of days.

We all came home from the hospital today. It's been an exciting couple of days, but now it's time to get the routine going.
We are all tired. No more talking, just pics.

Tiffany and Isabelle both have done a great job of recovering from yesterdays events. Isabelle has changed so much, she almost looks like a different person! Her head is returning to normal and her eyes are clearing up. She went about 5 hours without a feeding today, she much prefers to sleep than to eat! In fact, both yesterday and this morning it was not uncommon for Isabelle to fall asleep 10 seconds after beginning feeding. This afternoon she made up for it though, taking in an hour of feeding!
Here are some pictures from today:

Isabelle Marie Gattuso was born July 5th, 2007 at 2:21 PM. She weighed 7lb 3oz and was 20.5" in length.
Below is a short video and some pictures of her Birth day!

Tiffany's water broke at 11:57 July 4th. Looks like the baby is looking to celebrate independence day! We are at the hospital and won't be leaving till the baby comes. Tiffany is 3 weeks early.
